Ancient village located on the southeast side of Pietra di Bismantova in view of the middle valley of the Secchia, in 1611 Maro (705 mt above sea level) was the most important of the rural suburbs of Vologno.
Until a few years ago it housed a dairy of Parmigiano Reggiano.
The Oratory of St. Anne is known since the eighteenth century (1746) and is located at the entrance of the village.
